“九五”期间我国图书馆事业规模不断扩大 ,设施条件得到改善 ,服务工作不断拓展 ,现代化建设迈上新台阶 ,馆际合作、对外交流、队伍建设和学术研究都取得了显著成绩。新世纪里 ,要以“三个代表”重要思想为指导 ,加大投入 ,广泛采用先进技术 ,深化改革 ,拓展服务 ,抓紧立法 ,加强队伍建设 ,发挥图书馆学会桥梁和纽带作用 ,促进事业全面发展

Promoting the Modernization of Chinese Librarianship under the Guidance of Jiang Zemin's "Three Represents Theory"

During the period of the Ninth Five Year National Plan, Chinese librarianship rapidly developed in the following aspects: scales were expanded; facilities were improved; services were diversified; modernization stepped onto a higher level; interlibrary and international cooperation, staff development and academic research were fruitful. In the new century, we should further develop Chinese librarianship under the guidance of Jiang Zemin's "Three Represents Theory"(The Party should always represent the development needs of China's advanced social productive forces, always represent the onward direction of China's advanced culture, and always represent the fundamental interests of the majority of the Chinese people).
