"When the Great Canal works well,Jining becomes prosperous;When the river transportations is discarded,Jining becomes undeveloped".This sentence tells people the relationship between the Great Canal and economy and social life of Jining.When the Great Canal had been built in Yuan Dynasty,the Great Canal in Jining played an efficient part in the river transportations.Jining became an important center which was a place of goods transportations and commodity deals,more and more people developed business and the service industry such as the diet line.We can see that Jining which was rather undeveloped,became a new city which owned comfortable transportations and many businessmen after the Great Canal had been built.
