A barnyard duck sits on her nest, waiting for her eggs to hatch. Finally, the shells begin to crack. Out pop cute, fluffy ducklings-except for one. Who has ever seen such an ugly duckling? The neighbors waddle over, clucking their tongues. "Her neck is too long!" What dull gray feathers!" The taunting continues until the duckling's own mother wishes she would just go away.
