Analysis of Social Factors on Space Planning for Public Libraries

There are a lot of factors effecting on space planning for public libraries. However, the most significant factors are the people amount to be served and the social economic development. For the service population, it could be divided into population registered and resident population from the view point of demography, and direct serviced population and indirect serviced population from the aspect of libraries. Among them, the last two factors effect directly on the library space planning. The traffic status and industrial economic structure are regarded as main social economic development factors. Different strategies should be adopted for the different social factors while library space planning.
