新教与山西近代教育

近代山西的天主教、新教均将教育作为一种传教手段,积极创办教会学校。但由于意识形态的追求、历史经验及对教育重视程度的不同,决定了天主教与新教在山西不同的教育实践活动。新教教育凭借其在办学时间、数量、质量等诸多方面所具有的明显优势,成为近代山西教会教育的主要成分,奠定了山西近代教育的基础。

Protestantism and Modern Education in Shanxi

Since the modern time of Shanxi province, both Protestants and Catholic utilized educational activities as a way of missionary work. They originated a number of modern church schools. However, their activities were not the same because of their different ideologies, historical experiences and respective values on education. In the aspects of time, quality and quantity, the advantages of Protestant's schools were outstanding. They were the main component of church schools in Shanxi .To a great extent, the protestant's work paved the road toward a modern education for Shanxi.
