范畴化理论与大学英语词汇习得策略

摘    要:词汇是语言的基本单位,词汇储备量不足是目前大学生学习外语的最大障碍。因此,在大学英语教学中给学生传授有效的词汇习得策略以增加词汇有效储备量是当务之急。传统的单词表策略、上下策略和语义加工策略存在诸多不足:而范畴化理论下的典型词策略、语义聚合与切分策略、语义延伸策略和语境创建策略却能克服上述不足,提高课堂教学的效度。

Abstract:Words form the basic unit of any language. Insufficiency of vocabulary storage has proved to be the great obstacle to college English learners. It is It is imperative for college English teachers to help their students to enlarge their vocabulary storage by applying effective vocabulary acquisition strategies. There are many disadvantages in the word-list strategy, contextual strategy, and meaning processing strategy. Prototype words strategy, meaning-generalizing-and-specifying strategy, meaning extending strategy and context-creating strategy based on categorization can eliminate the disadvantages mentioned above, and bring about better effects on vocabulary acquisition on the part of the students.
