Anhui Commercial Bureau in the late Qing dynasty, governing all the commerce-related businesses in the province, was a temporary dispatching institution established outside the government office by DENG Hua-xi, the grand coordinator in Anhui province in answer to the Reform Method.This bureau played an important role in advocating commerce, supervising the squires and businessmen, mediating commercial disputes and easing social contradictions.
