| 摘 要： | 英语是一种生动活泼，富于表现力的语言，这与其词汇的构成方式丰富多彩是分不开的。英语有一套固有的构词方式，在这些方式中，合成构词法是产生新词的主要方法之一。本文分析了合成词的四种主要构词形式，并从文体色彩的角度阐述了合成词的三大类别，即：俚语或临时语，科技用语和报刊用语。

| Abstract: | English, with varied word formations, is a vivid and expressive language. Blending is one of the major inherent characteristics in English word formations. In this article, the author describes four kinds of blend-formations and elaborates on three classifications of blending in stylistic flavor: they are slang or provisional words, scientific terms and media terms. |
