| Abstract: | Pingyan, a village near the Sanmen Bay in eastern Zhejiang Province, is a unique rural community. It has a population of 2,177 residents, but the population is composed of residents with 115 surnames, covering almost all the most popular surnames in China. This makes the village unique in rural China. |
