试论婚礼服饰的变迁

辛亥革命推翻了二千年的封建制度而中国传统婚礼服,开始中西合璧以至于普遍西化。国人认识到西方文化的某些先进性,并重新审视自身,开始崇尚西洋文明。新青年追求自由自主的新式婚姻,人们抛弃的不单单是凤冠霞帔,而是陈腐的婚姻制度,接受的不单单是白色的婚纱,而是新思想,新文化。

On the Changes of Wedding Dresses

The Revolution of 1911 led by Dr. Sun Yat-sen overthrew the feudal system which had existed in China for over 2,000 years. It was at this point when the style of Chinese traditional wedding dresses commenced to be combined with that of Western's, even to be totally westernized. From then on, Chinese not only started to realize the advancement of Western culture, admire the Western civilization, but also have new judge about themselves as well. Young people pursued new-style marriage which is freer and more independent. Therefore, what people abandoned is far more than the Chinese traditional wedding dresses but the outworn marital system; and what they accepted is not simply white wedding dresses, but new thoughts and culture.
