On the Silence Atmosphere in Independent College English Class

Keeping in silence in English class is a common phenomenon among students in accredited universities. To change the state of silence in the class, promote students to participate in classroom activities and to enhance the teaching effects for non-English major, this article analyses the factors that influence students＇ silence phenomenon from the perspective of both the teacher and student, and puts forwards the relevant strategies for solving the problem.
