Before to answer Qian Xuesen＇s question that＂why our schools always fail to train outstanding talents？＂,it is essential to take student-teacher interaction into consideration,because it is important to excellent talent trainring,which has been backed up by both theory and practice.As the two very important external indexes,the student-teacher ratio and the class size reflect the effects of student-teacher interaction from macro and micro aspect respectively.There is a big gap between American top universities and China＇s universities of ＂Project 985 ＂,the leader of training outstanding talents.By drawing lessons from American top universities and considering the present situation,the universities of ＂Project 985 ＂should reduce the student-teacher ratio and limit the class size.
