| Abstract: | The romances about gifted scholars and beautiful girls in late Ming and early Qing dynasties are characteristic of the narrative pattern of "surviving the troubles from a villain", the formation of which is closely related with the social conviction that true affection is revealed only in troubles and miseries and with the fiction creation principle that pursues an unexpected but marvelous plot. |
