Analysis of the Channel Capacity of MIMO System in the Finite Scattering Channel

This paper introduces a capacity estimation method for MIMO systems in a finite scattering channel, analyses the effect of multipath propagation on the performance of capacity. Moreover, it investigates an optimum energy allocation strategy when the channel is unknown and known at the transmitter. The results by Matlab show that the capacity is increased approximately in proportion to the number of antennas. But when there are a few multipath components, the capacity tends to a limit determined by the number of multipath components. when the number of multipath components increase, the performance of capacity which adopts the adaptive power allocation is outperform the performance which adopts the uniform power allocation.
