The Responsibility of Intellectual in Contemporary China： Taking Gramsci＇s Organic Intellectuals Theory as a Perspective

Antonio Gramsci＇ s organic intellectual theory shows that organic intellectuals should be have practice and educational function, and should serve for people. However, China is in a transition period, and most of contemporary intellectuals lose their social responsibility. They are serving for the vested interests, and are divorcing from the masses, and are chasing academic fame and fortune, and are lacking the remarks of the public domain. Actually, they should be the conscience of the community, and speak for people, and cultivate citizen consciousness in practice to uphold justice for people.
