用框架理论看外媒对中国会议的报道——以《纽约时报》对中共十八大的报道为例

中国共产党第十八次代表大会是中国2012年最重要的事件之一,《纽约时报》是最具公信力、影响力的国际媒体之一。本文运用了传播学中的框架理论,对《纽约时报》在中国共产党第十八次全国代表大会期间的报道进行了分析与研究,发现本次报道依然是采取了政治议题为主要报道框架,其中又以国内政治议题为主;并且,本次报道还在一定程度上突破了西方对我国政治会议报道的"刻板成见",其批评框架所占比例里低于肯定框架,所采纳的信源也以中国官方和专家学者为主,大部分报道也配上了来自权威媒体的现场图片,保持了一定的中立性、客观性、平衡性。这标志着外媒对我国形象、工作的认可,也是我国外宣工作取得的重大进步,同时,这种平衡性和中立性,也为我国的外宣工作提供了借鉴和参照。

An Empirical Study of Reports about the Eighteenth Congress of CPC by Network Times from Perspective of Framework Theory

The eighteenth congress of the CPC constitutes one of the most important issues in China in 2012. Network Times is one of the most creditable and influential international media. This paper reports an empirical study of reports about the Eighteenth Congress of CPC by Network Times from perspective of framework theory and finds that as usual the reports of foreign medias focus on political topics, especially Chinese domestic political top- ics. The paper observes that the reports spare more space for positive aspects than for negative aspects, breaking its ＂stereotype＂ to some extent and maintain some neutrality, objectivity and equilibrium by mainly adopting news lit- eral and picture resource from Chinese government and scholars. This marks the foreign press~ recognition of China image and effort, and reveals the great progress in China~ foreign publicity. The neutrality and equilibrium in re- ports is also an example and reference for China~ foreign publicity.
