| Abstract: | Résumé Le canton de Genève — souverain en matière d'éducation comme tous les cantons suisses — a institué en 1962, dans le cadre de la réforme de l'enseignement secondaire, une école globale non intégrée (basée sur un système de sections et appliquant le  streaming ) couvrant les trois derniers degrés de la scolarité obligatoire (élèves de 12 à 15 ans). Le système des sections est rendu aussi perméable que possible, en vue de transferts, par diverses institutions (assistance pédagogique, classes d'appui et de dépannage, école de parents, introduction systématique de la technologie éducative); les deux principes de l'institution sont la démocratisation des études, et l'orientation continue des élèves, cette dernière étant favorisée par la présence dans chaque établissement d'un psychologue scolaire et l'utilisation de tests appliqués dans la plupart des disciplines enseignées à tous les élèves des 16 collèges de ce Cycle d'Orientation. Le C.O. genevois expérimente, depuis quatre ans, un nouveau type d'organisation qui le transformerait en école globale intégrée par suppression des sections, et l'introduction de classes à niveaux et d'options. En automne 1975, trois collèges auront adopté cette Réforme II — le plus ancien la pratiquant depuis 1970–71.
The Canton of Geneva, sovereign in educational matters like all the Swiss cantons, introduced in 1962, within the framework of the reform of secondary education, a global non-integrated school (based on a system of sections and with applied streaming) covering the last three grades of obligatory schooling (pupils aged 12 to 15). The system of sections has been made as permeable as possible regarding transfers by some institutions (pedagogical assistance, receptions classes and working groups, parent school systematic introduction to educational technology); the two principles of the institution are the democratization of studies, and the continued orientation of pupils, the latter being favoured by the presence in each establishment of a school psychologist, and the utilization of tests applied in the majority of subjects taught to all the pupils of the 16 colleges participating in the Orientation Cycle. The Geneva Orientation Cycle has for four years been experimenting with a new type of organization which will transform it into a globally integrated school through the suppression of sections, and the introduction of level and optional classes. In autumn 1975, three colleges will have adopted this Reform II — one of them having practiced it since 1970–71.
Zusammenfassung Der Kanton Genf, souverän in Bildungsangelegenheiten wie alle anderen schweizerischen Kantone, hat 1962 im Zusammenhang mit der Reform der Sekundärstufe eine allgemeinbildende, nicht-integrierte Schule (auf der Basis von Sektionen und unter Anwendung des streaming) eingeführt, die die letzten drei Jahre der Schulpflicht einschliesst (Schüler von 12 bis 15 Jahren). Das System der Sektionen ist von einigen Institutionen so durchlässig wie möglich angelegt worden im Hinblick auf den Transfer (pädagogische Assistenz, Aufnahmeklassen und Arbeitsgemeinschaften, Elternschule, systematische Einführung pädagogischer Technologie); die zwei Prinzipien der Institution sind Demokratisierung des Unterrichts, und die laufende Orientation der Schüler; die letztere wird begünstigt durch die Anwesenheit eines Schulpsychologen in jeder Institution, und die Anwendung von Tests in der Mehrzahl der Unterrichtsfächer für alle Schüler der 16 Colleges in diesem Orientierungszyklus. Seit vier Jahren experimentiert der Genfer Orientierungszyklus mit einem neuen, Organisationstypus, der ihn in eine allgemeine integrierte Schule verwandeln wird, bei gleichzeitiger Aufhebung der Sektionen und der Einführung von Niveau- und Wahlklassen. Im Herbst 1975 werden drei Colleges diese Reform II angenommen haben, das älteste davon praktiziert sie schon seit 1970–71. |
