董仲舒的民本思想新探

中国民本思想与西方民主思想完全不可比附，民本与尊神是护卫君权的有机统一体，民本是君权的附庸。伸天仁民是董仲舒民本思想的特色，董仲舒在伸天主张掩护下的亲民思想，比先秦的民本思想有新的发展，并且达到了这种思想所能够达到的高峰。他强调“仁”应该施及民众。他较早提出了关注民生，调剂贫富的主张。他的教化思想出发点是建立君仁民从的和谐社会，然而难免成为愚民的重要途径。

On Dongzhongshu's Thought of People

Chinese thought of people are essential part belongs to different category from western democracy , the thought of people are essential part was together with the idea of worshiping gods on the purpose of protecting the power of the kings or emperors , the thought that people are essential part was carried only for the reason that it can keep throne stable. The idea of reverence for heaven and kind to people is the highlight of the thought carried by Dongzhongshu. The idea to be good to people, with the idea of reverence for heaven, went a further step than in the time of Spring and Autumn periods and War States periods, and went on the height that this kind of thought could be. He stressed on that the rulers should be kindheartedness to people. He put forward the idea of keeping balance between the poor and the rich. His ideas on education made the people foolish, although he only wanted to teach them to obey the rulers.
