汉语意译外来词归属问题探讨

在汉语外来词的界定方面有一个争论已久、至今尚无定论的热点就是意译词的归属问题。目前汉语外来词的划分以形式为原则 ,以语音为标准 ,忽视了外来词的文化内涵 ,将本应归于外来词行列的意译外来词误作汉语固有词汇来对待。为了客观、真实地反映这一事实 ,有必要从文化角度入手 ,将那些与外国文化密切相关的意译词划归外来词。

On the Classification of Chinese Loan Words

The definition of Chinese loanwords is,up to mow,not satisfactory.One of the foci of discussion is the classification of translated words.The present criterion employed in the defining of Chinese loanwords stresses on the form and pronunciation without any mentioning of the cultural connotation of a translation loan which is one of the important features different form that of a native Chinese word.Consequently,many translated words which should be grouped into loan words are regarded as native Chinese words and the influences from foreign languages and foreign cultures brought about by those translated words are neglected.Hence,to reveal the fact of the foreign influence on the change and development of Chinese,it is mecessary to launch a cultural study on the Chinese loan words,classifying those words which are closely associated with foreign languages and cultures into Chinese loanwords.
