电影字幕翻译的功能主义分析

Functionalist approaches to film subtitle translation

Appreciating foreign films has become an essential part of modern life in China as well as an important channel to further understanding and communication between different cultures. Although within the category of literal translation, subtitle translation has its own distinctive features, compared with the other forms ofliteral translation. This article briefs the Functional Approaches to translation, analyzes film subtitle translation from the prospective of this theory and summarizes principles and strategies for subtitle translation, in the hope of shedding light on the of subtitling process and evaluating translation products.
