英语广告常用的修辞手法

摘    要:广告作为一种应用语言,是当今社会广泛使用的交流媒介。本文列举了英语广告中常用的明喻、暗喻、拟人、夸张、排比、押韵、双关、对偶、反复等修辞手法,并作了认真分析,说明了这些手法的功能和效果。事实表明,英语广告引人入胜的诀窍不是靠大量使用修饰语,而是靠运用各种修辞,以为数不多但却精练独到的语言给人以印象深刻的信息。

Abstract:Advertisement as an applied language is a widely used exchanging medium in our society.The rhetorical means of English advertisement in common use are simile,metaphor,personification,hyperbole,parallelism,rhyme,pun,antithesis,repetition,quotation and imitation etc.By analyzing seriously,the author explains the functions and results of these means.The fact shows that,the fascinating secret of English advertisement does not rely on using a large number of modifiers but on using all kinds of rhetorical ways,with a few succinct language,it can give people deeply impressed information.
