奈达功能对等理论视角下《简·爱》三个中译本修辞手法翻译的比较

本文运用尤金·奈达的功能对等理论分析比较了文学作品《简·爱》中常用的几种修辞手法：拟人、明喻、暗喻、夸张、重复和排比的翻译。有的修辞方法可以直译并对译语读者产生同样的效果，有的则需要进行适当的改动来适应译本的风格。具体选用那种方法则取决于修辞手法在译语中被接受的程度。因此，译者不仅要能够识别各种不同的修辞手法，还必须理解其语义功能和风格特点。只要修辞手法能够自然地融入译语，并且其本意不受影响，那么就应该保留其本来的形式。

An Analytical Comparison of the Translation of Rhetorical Devices in the Three Chinese Versions of Jane Eyre from the Perspective of Functional Equivalence

This paper makes an analysis of the translation methods of several rhetorical devices commonly used in the novel Jane Eyre, using Eugene A. Nida＇s theory of functional equivalence： personification, simile, metaphor, hyperbole, repetition and parallelism. Some rhetorical devices can be literally translated and has the same function as the original version while some need adaptations to fit in the style of the translated version. Which method to choose depends on to which extent the rhetorical devices can be accepted in the translated version. Therefore, translators should not only recognize different rhetorical devices, but also understand their functions and stylistic features. As long as the rhetorical devices can be fitted into the translated version naturally without torturing their original meaning, their original forms should be retained.
