Analysis of the Affect of Second Language Learning by Comparing English and French

There are various relations, either of commonality or of individuality, between English and French. Through the comparison on phonetics, vocabulary and grammar, the thesis analyses the commonality and individuality between the two languages, and draws conclusions on the promotion of positive transfer and the restraint of negative transfer, which may better equip students in learning French as a second foreign language.
