华人社会的大学文凭意义、考试取向文化以及与华人文化的关连性

西方霸权已从经济领域扩张到教育研究范畴,无论台湾或是中国大陆往往以西方理论为依归,致使研究发现难以契合华人文化的独特属性。本文由此出发探讨华人文化的独特面,据以分析大学文凭在华人社会的意义是不同于西方社会,名校具有高度的稀有性象征意义,因而驱动许多家长积极提供子女额外的学习活动。此种关连性显示,普及化高校政策难以解决成绩至上的考试文化或是迎合考试的补习教育等怪异现象,假若无法改变既存文化的作用,更适切的作法是增加名校的规模与数量,高校评鉴或是排名的作法不仅强化名校的象征意义,也忽视自身文化的独特意义与作用,并且将强化额外学习活动的重要性。
