中国青年出版社与中国当代文学的生产

中国青年出版社成立于1951年,主要出版目标为团的基础知识和青年修养读物。但是,从20世纪50年代中期到60年代中期,中国青年出版社先后出版了《红旗谱》、《红日》、《红岩》、《草原烽火》、《烈火金刚》、《风雷》、《创业史》等当代文学史上的著名作品,这些作品曾被人们总结为＂三红＂、＂三红二火＂、＂三红一创＂。从对这些作品生产过程的仔细探究可以看出,在不同的时代,文学承担着不同的任务和满足着人们的不同需求,因此,在不同的时代,文学作品的生产方式和生产主体也就是作者队伍也是很不相同的。具体地说,新中国成立后,写作成为和国家权力密切相关的一项集体事业,其主要任务是阐释和传达新的时代精神和国家意志,为人民群众生产和提供最有益的精神食粮,出版社成为完成这个生产任务的专业和主要机构。作为政权机关团中央的直属单位,中青社能够更方便和更深入地理解党和国家的政治需要,因而能够按照这种需要打造出最符合时代要求的经典作品。

China Youth Press and Contemporary Chinese Literature Production

China Youth Press,founded in 1951,aims to produce selected readings on rudiments of the Young League and on youth accomplishments.However,from mid-1950s to the mid-1960s,China Youth Press had sucessively published famed works in contemporary Chinese literary history,such as Keep the Red Flag Flying,The Red Sun,Heroic Martyrs,Fighting on the Prairie,Heroic Deeds of Guerillas,The Tempest,Builders of A New Life,etc.—once highly regarded by the populace.A scrutiny of the production process of these works can show that literature shoulders different missions and meets diverse needs of people at different epoches,and that literary works also differ in their production mode and their writers at different times.To be specific,since the founding of New China,writing had become a collective enterprise closely related to state power,whose main task was to expound and convey the spirit of the new epoch and state will as well as to produce and provide the optimal spiritual food for the masses while presses had become chief and professional organizations for accomplishing such a mission.As a unit directly under the Central Committee of the Young League,China Youth Press was in a position to comprehend the political needs of the Party and the state conveniently and thoroughly,thus having been able to turn out classics geared to the epochal needs in line with such requests.
