大学新生录取标准之客观公平性分析

摘    要:单以入学考试成绩作为录取学生的标准,具客观性。因为标准及方式一致,不受评审者个人主观因素之影响,但不一定公平。因为学生因家庭背景及小区环境不同,造成学生学习机会不均,进而影响其考试成绩。从社会正义与公平的角度看,实质上对弱势学生更为不利。统一考试不一定能精确地评量学生所学到的知识,也不一定能精确地评量各学校或科系真正需要的学生能力与特质。即使考试能够评量上述项目,因种种原因,也会有误差。因此以单一入学考试成绩作为录取学生的标准,不是最恰当的办法,相反,会造成许多负面的教育影响。

An Analysis of objectivity and fairness of the standards for College freshmen admission

Abstract:Entrance exam, to be used as the sole standard of admitting students into the college, is of objectivity, since the standards and means are consistent, and hard to be affected by the personal subjective assessments. However, entrance exam as a standard, though objective, is not necessarily fair. The different family backgrounds and study environments of each student may cause uneven learning opportunities for the students, thereby affect their examination results. So, from a social justice and equity point of view, the entrance exam put the disadvantaged students into a more adverse situation. The uniform entrance exam may neither be able to accurately assess students' knowledge, nor necessarily exactly assess the abilities and personalities which the schools or the departments desire to make clear. Even if the tests will evaluate the above-mentioned items, for various reasons, there still will be errors in the final results. Therefore, entrance exam, as a sole standard to admit the students into colleges, not only fails to be the most appropriate approach, but also brings many negative impacts to our education.
