| Abstract: | This paper, under the theory of narratology and the stylistics, aims at the discussion of the textual meaning of The Great Gatsby. The first person narrator is an outstanding feature of the text, and it gives the text charming phenomenon. Reasonable explanations can be made, through the first narrator, of the author' intention, psychological and functional characters and the social relevance of the text. |
