| Abstract: | There are apparent differences in the ideas about university by Cai Yuanpei and Mei Yiqi respectively on many aspects such as specialized knowledge oriented education or generalized knowledge oriented education, the relation between the university and the society, and the freedom of nmning universities, etc. Their different life experiences, social backgrounds and the nature of their universities are the main causes that lead to the difference between their ideas. |
