律诗中的对仗及其英译

律诗中的对仗在英语中没有对应形式,英语修辞中的平行对照虽与对仗有些相似之处,但不是一回事。所以,把律诗译成英语时内容与形式不易兼顾,存在一定的不可译性。当然,从宽泛角度看,诗是可译的,律诗也不例外。诗的内容与意境在译诗中可能会较好地传递出来,但形式上定有所改变或缺损。

"Antithesis" in Classic Chinese Poetry and Its Translation into English

In lushi,the special eight-line classic Chinese poem, duizhang is one of the prominent features,but it finds no equivalence in English poems.Though antithesis,as a figure of speech in English,has something in common with duizhang in Chinese,they are quite different.In translating classic Chinese poems into English,therefore,it is quite difficult to achieve a good solution to the problem.To a certain extent,duizhang in Chinese poems is untanslatible,and yet,in a broad sense,classic Chinese poems are translatible both in terms of content and in terms of form,which includes duizhang.In the process of translation the content of a lushi poem may very well be reproduced,but something in form must be missing.
