“唯女子与小人为难养也”心解

《论语》中"唯女子与小人为难养也"一般都解读为"只有女人和小人是难以同他们共处的"、"只有女人和小人是最难伺候的"、"只有女人和小人是最难对付的"等等,大多视女人为卑劣小人,极度鄙视和憎恶之。这样的解读其实是对《论语》原意的误解,也与儒家思想情感不合。将此句理解为"只有部分女子和老百姓是要谨慎教育的"似乎更为准确。

＂Only the women and the villains are difficult to be raised＂ in ＂The Analects of Confucius＂ is generally interpreted as ＂ Only women and villains are difficult to coexist with,＂ ＂Only women and villains are the most difficult to serve＂ and ＂Only women and villains are the most difficult to deal with＂ and so on.Most of them regard woman as a despicable villain,and extremely contempt and hate them.The author thinks that this interpretation is a misunderstanding of the intent of ＂The Analects of Confucius＂,and is not in accordance with Confucian thoughts and feelings.It seems more accurate to interpret the sentence as ＂Just part of the women and the ordinary people need to be educated carefully＂.
