摘    要:"鱼尾狮"是一头由狮首鱼身组合而成的异兽,脱胎于新加坡"鱼尾狮传说",经过由政治、经济、文化等多位主体共同参与的实体性和想象性的建构实践,以及具象化和符号化的发展历程后,现已成为新加坡的城市标识和国家意象,在强化国族身份认同中起到重要作用。"鱼尾狮"的成功转型是原生文化形态与现代化语境的有机对接,"鱼尾狮传说"的传承、保护和发展经验,是活态保护人类非物质文化遗产的一个成功范例。

Abstract:A merlion is an exotic animal assembled of lion head and fish body, which was born out of the leg- ends about merlions in Singapore. Through substantive and imaginative construction practice involved by such multi-subjects as politics, economy and culture as well as visualization and symbolization development, the mer- lion has become an urban sign and state image in Singapore, contributing to intensification of the national identi- ty. The successful transformation of merlions represents the organic linking between original form of culture and modern context. The inheritance, protection and development experience of the legends about Merlions can serve as advisable approach for vital protection of non-material cultural heritage.
