| Abstract: | During late Qing Dynasty, the custom was a bizarre framework: it belonged to the dynasty in name, and was actually run by foreign custom officers - in fact it served as a base and means of the western powers'con trolling Chnia's economy. China's losing its custom management was the result of the union of the aggressive invading powers and the weak and corrupt dynasty. |
