| Abstract: | This article first analyzes the Confucian factors in the policies adopted by Lee Kuan Yew, the former Singaporean prime minister, of running the country to present the cultural value of his Confucian ideas. Then the paper goes on to point out that the examples of Lee's successful combination of Confucian culture with modern economic development can be used as reference for the present China, which is striving towards prosperity in terms of both material and spirit. |
