Interpersonal Function in International Business Talks

This paper makes an analysis on the basis of interpersonal function, one of the three functions of language according to Halliday, and analyses the functions of mood and modality in the development of a successful discourse. With the cases in international business talks, this paper points the crucial importance of mood and modality which further enlighten the strategies in successful intercultural communication.
