隐喻理论及其在英语教学中的应用

摘    要:隐喻能力与语言能力和交际能力同样重要,应该在英语教学中得以体现。对隐喻的学习仅从修辞角度和认知角度是不完整的,除了词汇隐喻理论,还要从语法隐喻理论出发,才能真正认识隐喻现象的本质。英语教材中的隐喻式表达应作为重要的教学内容看待,词汇隐喻有利于隐喻修辞格的学习以及隐喻认知能力的培养,而语法隐喻有助于培养学生用不同方式表达意义潜势的思维。

Abstract:Metaphorical competence,as well as linguistic competence and communicative competence,is an integral part of students' English competence,and should be emphasized in English teaching.Therefore,importance should be attached to metaphorical expressions in the teaching materials.Rhetorical metaphor and cognitive metaphor are lexical metaphor,which contributes to the study of rhetoric and the cultivation of metaphor cognitive competence.In addition,grammatical metaphor should be included in English teaching,for it studies metaphor in the lexicogrammatical level and aims at the ability of expressing "potential significance" in the English language.
