| 摘 要： | 基督教对西方文学的影响深远而巨大,基督教中大量的神话传说、“智慧文学”等等都是许多文学作品的主要源泉,其中的人物形象和经典故事情节渗透到西方文学中,其间包含的道德取向和伦理观念则成为许多西方文学作品的主题,《伊甸之东》就是其中之一.从基督教伦理思想对善恶诠释的角度,对斯坦贝克晚年力作《伊甸之东》进行系统和深入的解读,以期挖掘作者在作品中表达的道德思想.

| Abstract: | Christianity has profound influence on western culture. The sources of many literatures come from myths and legends from Bible. The ethics of Christianity serve as the theme of many western liter- atures, of which East of Eden is an example. The paper argues that ethics of Christianity has great im- pact upon the American novelist John Steinbeck and analyzes the ethics presented in East of Eden. |
