A considerable number of love songs in The Book of Songs were either composed on bank of water or closely related to water . If traced deeply into its sources , this has a bearing on water worship by ancient people who believed that water , with its magical reproduction , was the very source of all things on earth and thus human beings came from water and that women , when more contact with water , could have strong fertility and bear more children .
