泉州旅游资料英译的失误与对策——基于顺应理论的视角

从顺应论的角度分析泉州旅游资料的翻译过程,指出泉州旅游资料的翻译因为缺乏对海外游客心理世界、社交世界和物理世界等交际语境的顺应,忽视对译语语言语境的顺应,所以导致旅游资料英译的失误.认为可综合采用意译、增译、省译和改译等策略和方法,使泉州旅游资料的英文翻译在形式、内容、风格上符合英语的表达习惯.

A Study of Chinese- English Translation Errors in Quanzhou Tourism Texts from the Perspective of Adaptation Theory

This thesis tends to analyze the process of Quanzhou tourism texts translation from a pragmatic perspective of adaptation theory. Failing to adapt to the communicative context which includes the mental world, social world and physical world of foreign tourists, even the linguistic context leads to the errors in Chi- nese to English translation. The translators try to probe into the translation methods synthetically including lit- eral translation, free translation, amplification and creative translation, so that the translation of Quanzhou tourism texts can be widely accepted by the foreign readers in diction, syntax and discourse, and make Quanzhou an appealing tourist destination.
