| Abstract: | Mao Dun is skilled in unfolding before the readers the cultural scenes and quick liferhythm of modern metropolises, from whose perspective modern Chinese society is analyzed. This formsthe keynote of Mao Dun's literary creation. The unique metropolitan perspective, unique metropolitanspirit and the rhythm of metropolitan life have made his novels emerge as typical modern metropolitan nov-els. |
