| 摘 要： | 以往任碧莲研究较为忽略其关于东方男性形象、想象尤其是两者之间的关系。文章把性别研究和文化研究结合起来,从《典型的美国人》的分析入手,指出任碧莲东方男性形象具有性别意识上的双重缺失和压抑的特点。这一特点,与任碧莲作为一位华裔女作家女性写作和多元文化的双重视域有关;它们共同构成了任碧莲东方男性想象的基本框架、内涵和特点。

The Images and Imagination of Oriental Males Seen through Gish Jen's Typical Americans |

| Abstract: | The previous researches done on Gish Jen tended to overlook the image and imagination of oriental males,esp.the relationship between the two.This paper,combining the research on gender and the study of culture,perceives that Jen's image of oriental males conveys the lack of gender duality and suffers from depression by analyzing her novel Typical Americans.Such a feature relates to Gish Jen's background that she,as a Chinese American female writer,possessed the dual perspective domain of feminine writing and multi-culture,which,as a whole,construct the basic frame,connotation and characteristics of Jen's oriental males. |
