| Abstract: | This paper discusses the issue of linguistic arbitrariness put forward by Saussure. Not only the principle of arbitrariness is well-defined, but also the co-relations between arbitrariness and naturalness, absoluteness and relativity are probed into depth. In the end, some discussions are listed to show the linguists different points of view over the hot issue of arbitrariness. |
