论中庸

摘    要:中庸是既遵守礼制又对人自身的发展有用,其实质是礼治方法论;其背景在于周、秦社会是一个特重视礼治传统的礼治社会。《礼记》主张中庸原则的贯彻应考虑人情、经济与“时”、“顺”等因素。中庸具有否定神学历史现、化解矛盾、协调人与自然关系、顺应历史规律的历史哲学意义。中庸误读为折中调和是唐宋社会经济发达、政治平民化与化上佛教传入等外在因素和人的欲求不断膨胀的主观因素相融合的产物。

Abstract:Golden Mean" of the Confucian school integrates observance of rites with personal advancement, which is in essence the methodology of rule by the Rites. It was originated from the Zhou and Qin Dynasties, in which rites played a dominant role in the society. The Book of Rites claims that human relationship, economy and conformity with historical trend have to be taken into consideration when practicing the principles of "Golden Mean". "Golden Mean" is of historical and philosophical significance in that it denies the theological concept of history, dissolves contradictions, harmonizes the relationship between man and nature, and goes with the trend of history. The misinterpretation of "Golden Mean" as "compromise" and "concession" was an outcome of the amalgamation between the objective factor of economic prosperity, popularization of politics and introduction of Buddhism into China during the Tanf and Song Dynasties and the subjective factor of upswelling human desire.
