改革开放谱写海南发展新篇章

海南建省办经济特区是党中央和邓小平同志站在时代和全国改革开放全局高度作出的重大战略决策。发展是海南前进的主轴，改革开放是海南的生命线，当好改革开放的排头兵是经济特区的重要职责。二十年来，海南风雨兼程在探索中前进，在创新中发展，积累了许多宝贵经验，找到了符合海南实际的发展道路。海南的巨大变化引起了国人和世界的关注。如今，海南站在新的历史起点上开始了科学发展的新征程，争取通过10到15年的不懈努力实现海南发展新跨越，使其成为全国最开放、最具活力的地区之一和科学发展、和谐发展示范区。

Reform and Opening up Adds a New Chapter to the Development of Hainan

The establishment of Hainan province and of Hainan Special Economic Zone is the key strategic decision made by the Central Committee of CPC and Deng Xiaoping in line with social advancement and reform and opening up in our country. Since development is the spindle for the progress of Hainan while reform and opening up are the lifeblood of Hainan, Hainan should assume the duty of being the pacesetter in reform and opening up. In the past two decades, Hainan has forged ahead by exploration and has developed by innovation, thus having accumulated lots of valuable experience and found a way of development suited to its reality. The tremendous changes of Hainan have thus aroused great interest at home and abroad. Nowa- days, standing at the new historical starting point, Hainan has embarked on a new journey of scientific development, striving for tremendous progress through incessant efforts of ten to fifteen years to become a demonstration zone of scientific and harmonious development as well as one of the most open and vigorous regions across the country.
