摘    要:从20世纪50年代起,美国华人就被冠上了"模范少数族裔"的头衔.在显耀的称号背后,却隐藏着新一代美国华人不得不面对的社会、教育、心理等诸多问题与困扰,如因语言表达能力较弱而限制了他们在社会和经济领域更好地发展;以过重的心理负担秉承着"模范族裔"的范式;校园暴力、就业机会不均等和面对的歧视等生活环境.这些问题的存在不仅妨碍了华人个体的发展,而且也影响了整个族裔的长远发展."模范族裔"的光环掩盖着华人的困惑处境,也使美国华人自早期以来致力追求的民权平等的努力受到挑战.

Abstract:Since 1950s the Chinese American youngsters are minority laureate, under which are the social, educational, mental frustrations all the young Chinese Americans are faced with. For instance, their English is poor, their tension too heavy, and employment opportunity not equal, and their liability to cam- pus violence quite high. All this has hindered the individuals from growth, and held the whole from development. Likewise, the model minority has brought Chinese youngsters both glory and challenges.
