| Abstract: | On the basis of giving a brief account of ideational and interpersonal functions,the present paper focuses on the textual function's capacity for interpreting and guiding the process of translation.The paper points out that only by putting the above three functions under a comprehensive consideration,can rhetorical devices be given just expression to the greatest extent in the target language. |
