| Abstract: | This paper first analyzes the engineering educational requirements made by engineering practice in the globalization environment. Then it gives a brief introduction about CDIO, the new international engineering education initiative. Detailed discussions are then given to the design-directed engineering education reform initiative, which was created under the basic requirements of the CDIO initiative. |
