自19世纪中叶社会学问世以来,秩序论、功能论、冲突论和互动论的社会学家们就对“和谐社会”这一主题产生了浓厚的兴趣,并进行了许多有益的探索。在秩序论社会学家眼中,“和谐社会”意味着社会秩序的稳定与一致;在功能论社会学家眼中,“和谐社会”意味着社会功能的和谐与统一;在冲突论社会学家眼中,“和谐社会”意味着矛盾与冲突中的和谐与一致;在互动论社会学家眼中,“和谐社会”意味着人际互动中人际关系的和谐与融洽。

"Harmonious Society" in the Eyes of Western Sociologists

Since sociology generated in the middle period of the 19th century,sociologists of order theory,function theory,conflict theory and interdynamic theory have produced the strong interest and carried on a lot of helpful exploration to the theme of "harmonious society".In the eyes of order theory sociologists,"harmonious society" means the stability and unanimity of the civil order;in the eyes of functionists,it means harmony and unity of the social function;in the eyes of conflict theory sociologists,it means harmony and unanimity in contradictory and conflict;in the eyes of interdynamic theory sociologists,it means harmony of the relationship in the interdynamism.
