Technology chain, industry chain and technology innovation chain: theoretical framework and policy implications

By examining the supply-demand relation in the transfer and diffusion of R&D results, the authors propose a general resource-based theory for identifying bottle-neck aspects in the whole process of technology innovations. The findings suggest that the structural asymmetry is one of the deep-root causes of poor performance concerned. Furthermore, the authors discuss some of the most significant managerial implications of the theoretical framework, especially detail strategic technology alliances with a project supported by the theoretical framework, especially detail strategic technology alliances with a project supported by the National Hi Tech R&D Program of China.
