底层文学已成为新世纪重要的文学思潮之一,一大批重要作家参与了底层文学的创作。农村生活、打工者的城市遭遇、底层市民、三陪女等成为底层文学书写的主要对象。底层文学的兴起,有社会、思想文化原因,还有文学自身发展的原因。关于底层文学的论争,是关于"人文精神讨论"之后十几年间里唯一进入公共论域的文学论争,意义重大。但当下论争中已出现了简单、偏激与片面化倾向。
