Institution: | Professor of Education at the University of Texas at Austin. This paper is his Presidential Address delivered at the Ninth Annual Meeting of the Philosophy of Education Society at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana, March 30, 1953. Professor Wegener argues that philosophy of education cannot solve its theoretical and practical problems if it neglects the problems of traditional philosophy, particularly the problem of knowledge. He urges philosophers of education to take up once again a serious inquiry into epistemological questions. |
